Mesotherapy in Espoo

Mesotherapy is a collagen-stimulating treatment in which active ingredients needed by the skin are delivered via dozens or even hundreds of micro-injections. This procedure, which improves the skin’s condition and appearance, brightens and firms the skin, reduces superficial wrinkles, and can even help slow hair loss. Mesotherapy is typically performed as a series of 3–5 treatments.

Mesotherapy in a nutshell

Mesotherapy is a collagen-stimulating treatment in which the skin is infused with exactly the substances it needs to regenerate. During the procedure, active ingredients that improve the skin’s condition and appearance are injected into the right areas in sufficiently high concentrations. In this way, mesotherapy delivers what many topical products merely promise to do.

In mesotherapy, hyaluronic acid and other active ingredients needed by the skin are injected into the dermis. The treatment increases the skin’s moisture content and helps correct early signs of sagging.

Mesotherapy begins with a consultation and an examination of the skin’s condition. Based on these findings, the practitioner selects the most suitable cocktail of active ingredients. Before the injection treatment, the skin is thoroughly cleansed.

In mesotherapy, active ingredients are injected into the treatment area in dozens of microdoses. The procedure usually takes 30–45 minutes. Initially, there may be slight swelling, redness, and sometimes even bruising at the injection sites.

After mesotherapy, the skin appears more hydrated, smoother, and brighter than before. The first results are visible just a few days after the procedure, and they continue to improve gradually throughout the treatment series and even afterward.

The results of mesotherapy last for several months. The best results are achieved through a series of treatments, after which the effects can be maintained with occasional mesotherapy sessions, for example, as the seasons change.

Mesotherapy soothes and pampers the skin

Mesotherapy is suitable for adult women and men. People often seek out a course of treatments when their skin looks tired, dry, or lackluster, and even diligent at-home skincare fails to resolve issues related to skin condition and appearance.

Treatment topics:

  • dry or superficially dry skin
  • dull and tired-looking skin
  • superficial streaks
  • the onset of weakness
  • dark circles under the eyes, wrinkles under the eyes, developing eye bags

However, if the goal is to plump up the skin or contour facial features, mesotherapy is rarely the best option. In such cases, more effective solutions can be found in treatments such as dermal fillers.

What mesotherapy does and doesn't do

  • In mesotherapy, small amounts of active ingredients—such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids, and antioxidants—are introduced into the skin.
  • Viscoderm mesotherapy treatments improve the skin's moisture balance and make the skin more supple, especially in the face and neck area.
  • The Skinkò E mesotherapy treatment is suitable for the delicate skin under the eyes when the goal is to reduce dark circles, fine lines, and mild puffiness.
  • Mesotherapy firms the skin without making it look plump. The treatment primarily improves the skin’s condition and appearance.

How does mesotherapy work?

Mesotherapy begins with a relaxed consultation and planning for the procedure, if one is recommended. The treatment is quick and generally well-tolerated. However, some discomfort is possible; patients often describe the sensation as a pinching or stinging feeling during the injections.

Consultation

Mesotherapy begins with a thorough consultation. You can book a free consultation even while you’re still considering the treatment. During the consultation, you can ask questions, discuss your goals, and meet our professionals. At the same time, we’ll assess the treatment area and select the Viscoderm product best suited to your needs.

A separate consultation visit is not required. We consult with all clients before proceeding with treatment in any case, and if it is determined during the mesotherapy consultation that no treatment can be performed, the visit automatically becomes a free consultation.

Mesotherapy

Following the consultation, the procedure will begin. The skin in the treatment area will be cleansed before the procedure. If necessary, a numbing cream containing lidocaine will be applied to the area.

In mesotherapy, small amounts of active ingredients are administered into the skin using fine needles. The injections are administered superficially and evenly across the treatment area, ensuring that the ingredients are precisely targeted to the correct location and depth.

Viscoderm mesotherapy solutions contain

  • vitamins that support metabolism
  • amino acids that the skin needs for collagen synthesis
  • hyaluronic acid, which helps maintain the moisture balance of thin skin

After mesotherapy

After mesotherapy, the skin is cleansed and the injection sites are checked. Small injection marks may remain on the skin. These usually fade quickly.

Swelling, redness, and tenderness often develop in the treatment area. Small bruises and raised bumps at the injection sites are also possible. These symptoms will subside within the first few hours or, at the latest, within the first few days following treatment.

Unless you experience any skin reactions, you can return to your normal routine after the procedure. However, you should avoid touching the treated area, applying makeup, engaging in strenuous exercise, drinking alcohol, and using the sauna for 24–72 hours.

Aftercare instructions are reviewed verbally during the appointment. The client also receives a written copy of the aftercare instructions to take home.

When will the results be available?

Mesotherapy does not usually produce immediate results. The effects of the treatment develop gradually over the course of the treatment series as the skin reacts to both the needle pricks and the active ingredients.

  • The first changes become apparent as the treatment progresses
  • Results improve with each treatment session and continue to improve even after the course of treatment has ended
  • Skin firming is due to the formation of new collagen, and smoothing is due to improved moisture balance

The results of mesotherapy become apparent over the course of the treatment series

The effects of mesotherapy are not immediate but gradual. The best and most lasting results are achieved through a series of treatments. The effects develop gradually during and after the treatments.

Treatment results are influenced by individual factors, such as the client’s age, skin condition, and the number of mesotherapy treatments. A single treatment session may produce a slight change in the skin, but the most noticeable results are typically seen after two or three sessions.

  • No immediate results: the effects develop over the course of the treatment
  • Series of treatments: 2–5 sessions yield the best results
  • Effect: Based on the stimulation of collagen and elastin and the improvement of the skin's moisture balance

The results can be enhanced and maintained through consistent home care routines and occasional collagen-stimulating treatments, such as when the seasons change.
